MY PHILOSOPHY
When you grow up in the South, you are surrounded and
trained in the art of Southern hospitality. In planning a destination
wedding, it is part
of my job to assist my brides in structuring the entire event. The wedding
weekend has a beginning, a middle and an end and it should all flow seamlessly
from one event to the next. It is my belief that the bride and groom are
taking charge of their guests’ happiness for the entire time that
they are in Colorado; therefore, I work diligently to make sure that our
guests are comfortable and well informed about all of the details for events,
from locations to transportation schedules. It is my goal that the guests
get on the plane bound for home saying, “Wasn’t that the most
incredible wedding you’ve ever been to?”
Creating a timeline for the wedding week is one of
the most important assets that I have. But it’s only a timeline.
Each wedding takes on a life of its own and occasionally, the schedule
has to be adapted.
It is my job to help my clients remember that it is a WEDDING, not a German
train and we need to approach things with a sense of humor.
But beyond the operational details, to me the wedding
is a celebration of community. It is the joining of two people in the
presence of their
families and dear friends. It is important to remember that you will probably
never have this same set of family and friends together again – step
back, take a breath and enjoy this moment.
